OVERALL OPINION: Nice little cute ice cream shop. Jakara, anyone?
Driving through South Pasadena, this little ice cream shop may be easily missed – so keep your eyes open!
As you walk into Cookies & Cream, you are greeted by their shop sign with a cartoon-drawn cow. The people there are very friendly and helpful. With lots of ice cream and cookie samples to try from, you choose your pick! I ended up going for half a scoop of the lavender ice cream.
The cookie samples were had lots of flavors, but not too appealing to my taste buds. Anyways, these samples were placed in labeled plastic cups with one spoon in each of them. As for the ice cream samples – WOW they were delicious! There were lots of unique flavors. Ever since I tried Bi-rite’s lavender flavor, lavender flavored ice cream became one of my top picks. This one, though, is a bit on the creamier side.
LAVENDER: I ordered half a scoop and a Jakara (Pandan) cookie for a little less than $3. The ice cream comes with an almond brittle. Honestly, I enjoyed the almond brittle the most. It was crispy and flavorful.
Overall, the trip to this little store was worth it because it was different. But to compare it to other ice cream stores, I’m not totally convinced if I would come back unless I am craving some unique flavored ice cream. There were limited seatings. However, I cannot emphasize how inviting the employees were and the decor is really is really cute!
