Restaurant Review: Dinosaur Coffee

Rawr-dy for some coffee and tea?

CATEGORY: Coffee & Tea
PRICE: up to $5
ADDRESS: 4334 W Sunset Blvd, Los Angeles CA 90026
HOURS: Monday – Sunday // 7 AM – 7 PM
OVERALL OPINION: Great place to study, read, or finish up some work in a hip environment.

This cafe is conveniently located across Sunset Pacific Motel (aka Bates Motel), so it is a great place to grab a cup of coffee or tea after admiring Lamouroux’s artwork.

Dinosaur Coffee is right across the street from Projection L.A (check out the blog post of Silver Lake). This hipster cafe is beautifully designed. With high ceilings, modern decor, flowing woodwork, this place gives the most light and airy feeling. The first thing you see once you step inside this Silver Lake’s  coffee shop is the menu. If you are into interior design, you would love this place. The layout is really simple and clean.

I have to warn you though, it is really REALLY quiet in here. There is a patio right outside the coffee shop (you probably would feel more at ease carrying on your conversation).

POT OF TEA (GOLD PEONY WHITE): This oolong-based tea is cultivar to be made into a white tea; so it has “the creaminess of white tea with the aroma of oolong.” It contains almond, raisins, and honey. Harvested in mid-April. The tea is well-priced at $6, which my friend and I split.

We both felt a bit awkward while taking pictures of the interior design and tea, since the cafe was really quiet. Most customers were plugged into their laptops or doing some reading and sketching. The staff knows the drinks really well, so if you need any recommendations they can help you. You can also buy their products if you like it.

Overall, I loved the decor. Natural lighting poured into the shop softly…and nicely light the place. It was a bit quiet for me, but that just means it’s a great spot to get your work done!
