OVERALL OPINION: Located in Mission District with high hypes, this ice cream store will not disappoint you at all! You must try their honey lavender! They need a store in Southern California :)

Located in Mission District of San Fransisco, CA, this creamery deserves the perfect 10. Traveling around San Fransisco with a few friend of mine, we ventured to this ice cream shop after spotting it on our handy-dandy Yelp app. Guess what? This little store has over 8,000 reviews with over 8,000 people giving it 5 stars! Eight thousand? 8K?! We had to see if this hype is real. I have been to high reviewed (and high rated) Yelp-suggested places, but rarely do I find them parallel to my food critic mind.

There was a line already formed when we got to the front door of Bi-Rite Creamery, but (thankfully) the line flowed pretty quickly. Soon we were greeted by friendly and enthusiastic employees ready to serve us ice cream. They did not rush us as we sampled away the many variety of delicious and unique flavors. Their most popular flavor is the salted caramel, but I decided to go for the honey lavender and the green tea.

GREEN TEA: The flavor was just like other green tea ice cream out there. Not much of a WOW factor.

HONEY LAVENDER: There is no comparison to Bi-Rite’s lavender-flavored ice cream. OH. MY. GOODNESS. It was LEGEN wait for it… DAiRY!! (see what I just did there? haha). I immediately understood why this place is so hyped up. It lived up to its hype! The flavor was amazing! It had the perfect hint of floral lavender where it was not overpowering to the point where you feel like you are eating the flower. It was just perfect! I honestly can’t describe how delicious it was. It had the right ingredients of naturalness (totally not a word), creaminess, and sweetness. LOVED, LOVE, LOVED IT!

Okay, let’s get back to the shop before I start drooling over here…

I ordered the one cup with 2 flavors for $4. Seriously, I would have gone for a double scoop of that honey lavender. What defines Bi-Rite Creamery is their light, creamy, soft ice cream along with their cheerful staff. You don’t want no Mr. Grumpy serving you ice cream!

Anyways, I definitely recommend this place, and hope they will come to Southern California soon! If you can, go check it out! It’s totally worth it. ^^

Simply,
